Companies That Test on Animals
Fighting animal testing is a long and hard battle. Big companies are seldom willing to mend their ways and resort to more animal-friendly testing procedures. Change can only be brought about by strong action. Animal rights activists often resort to boycotting products from companies that indulge in cruel animal experimentation. Boycotts on products directly impact the companies’ sales and bring the issue to the attention of company owners. Remember that there is always power in numbers. The angrier the masses get towards these companies, the more likely they are to make positive changes in their testing techniques.
It can be heart-breaking to discover that some of your most favorite products are being manufactured by cruel animal testers. According to PETA, the following are only some of the organizations that still help in the support of such tests.
- Mars Candy (Think M&M’s & Snickers.)
Numerous Universities- Colgate Palmolive
- Clorox
- Phillip Morris for Cigarettes
- Proctor & Gamble – Clairol, Cover Girl, Max Factor so many other things
- Arm & Hammer
- Dial
- L’Oreal
- Johnson & Johnson
- Sally Hansen
- Iams – Yes, they do it too
Honestly, the list just goes on and on (7 pages long to be exact). Please refer to the PETA website for a complete list of companies that test on animals.
Remember! An ocean is only made by the drops of water within it. Every single person out there has the ability to make a difference. Be that voice of support to these animals that are helpless and suffering in worldwide labs. Don’t support these companies and participate in petitions against them. Don’t buy their products, write to tell them exactly why you refuse to apply their eye liner, wash your clothes using their detergent, or use their shampoo on your children’s hair. The power truly rests in the hands of every consumer, which are you and I.
